Engineers' Professional Assistant - SuperComm for Serial Communication Download
Electronics and software engineer now gets a professional Assistant for serial communication port interface design and testing. It is SuperComm. Forget the protocol analyzer, forget the simulation tool. With Windows 2000/XP based computer, you can now do the interface test with SuperComm.

Running Mode

SuperComm has 4 running modes:

  • Master: Send polling command periodically, and check the response data.
  • Slave: Check any incoming data, and reply if a certain format of data is received.
  • Monitor Only: Receive the incoming data and display.
  • Send Only: Send the data and display.

    Frame Setting

    Engineers' Professional Assistant

    SuperComm supply 4 types of frame definition:

  • HEAD_DATA_CRC_END
  • HEAD_DATA_END_CRC
  • DATA_CRC
  • DATA

    The frame length can be as long as 512 bytes, of which HEAD up to 10 bytes, END up to 10 bytes, and CRC up to 4 bytes. Currently CRC supports 10 calculation method.

    How to set sending data with a data file?

    1. Tick the "By Data File" option from the Send pad of Setting dialog window
    2. Select the data file name from the pop up file selection window
    3. Click OK button on the Setting window

    A data file should be in following format:

    data1,data2,data3,...dataN
    (value in Hex)

    For example:

    01,02,03,04,05
    a0,b0,c0,ff
    11,22,33,4,55,6,bb
    71,72,73,74,75,76,77
    81,82,83,84,

    However, when reading the data items by SuperComm, the length of each line will be truncated by the setting of Data Length, or will be filled with 00 if not enough items.

    Let's say the Data Length of the sending frame is 5. For above data file, the sending frames (without CRC and DLE) will be:

    01 02 03 04 05
    a0 b0 c0 ff 00
    11 22 33 04 55
    71 72 73 74 75
    81 82 83 84 00

    These frames are sending out periodically.
